Miss Crystal Rose.
We met five years ago.
I was serving and she was my bartender.
I loved her energy instantly.

Michael, Mike, Mikey, Animal, Booshie, Cheezy Puff... I could go on... here are just a handful of Mike's (that what I call him) endearing nicknames from Crystal. Yes, they are this cute! I met Mike around the same time as Crystal, at the same restaurant, dishing out the same chips and salsa... Their flirting started small, but we all saw it very clearly... they were in love, and now, they are getting Married!

Just Married: Heather & Ryan

Heather and Ryan love each other. So when they said their, "I do's" this year at the Hilton in Huntington Beach, it came as no surprise to anyone, how in love they looked.

The Tangled Vine was honored to design and have full floral control over Heather and Ryan's BIG day! Lilys are a favorite flower of Heather's, so we placed them e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e! To incorporate an even more elegant feel to an already beautiful venue, we chose to spray curly willow and seeded eucalyptus glossy black, we used black satin ribbons to imitate Heather's sash on her dress, even black pearls helped to break up the all white flowers!

Jake Ryan assisted me for the event and he did a wonderful job capturing the in-between moments throughout the ceremony and reception. He also helped haul many, many vases to transform Heather and Ryan's intimate reception. Thanks Jake!

Just Married: Joe & Crystal

The Casino of San Clemente hosted the Wedding Ceremony and Reception for Lovebirds: Joe and Crystal's BIG day! There was hardly a cloud in the sky when the cute couple said their, "I do's" alongside their close friends and family. Our floral experts, Bonnie and Allison, designed the outdoor ceremony florals along with the personal bridal arrangements. The Bride's favorite, tropical flowers in the colors of: green, orange, red, and purple were used throughtout the outdoor and indoor venue!

Michael Easley, of Michael Easley Photography, asked me to assist him in shooting Joe and Crystal's day, and here is what I got...

Annabelle & The Tiny Pink Rock

She skipped up the sidewalk wearing a light pink dress and white shoes with sequin flowers sparkling on them. Her strawberry blonde ringlets bounced in her face and as they did, she quickly used her hands to brush them away. "Hi, I'm Annabelle!" she said, with a smile that went from ear to ear. Annabelle couldn't have been older then four, she talked and walked around The Tangled Vine looking, but not touching anything. As Bonnie chatted with Annabelle and her Mom, I organized our Fall Harvest table display. It wasn't ten seconds later, that I felt a gentle tap on my hip. I looked down and saw little Annabelle staring up at me with her hand outstretched, with a tiny pink rock in the center of her palm. She smiled, and quietly whispered, "For you."

My heart melted. I reached for the tiny pink rock, and just as I reached it... it fell. On.the.floor, 1890s wood floor, with cracks.

My heart stopped.

Annabelle and I looked for the tiny pink rock for what seemed like forever, but what was probably only 10 minutes... I could see Annabelle's sadness, and I felt badly. To try and solve her/my loss, I ran into the back of our shop, found a purple glass bead and gave it to Annabelle. She looked up at me and gave me that silly smile, then skipped off down Los Rios Street! Bonnie and I watched as she continued skipping, pointing at flowers, and picking up rocks... We smiled.

A few days went by, I was at our Fall Harvest table and the thought of Annabelle came back to me. I dropped to the floor and started looking frantically for the rock, I needed to find it. After 15 minutes of looking without any luck, my hopes completely faded as I realized the tiny pink rock was really gone. I stood up, my hands on the ground to brace me and that's when I felt it. I turned my hand over and saw the tiny pink rock stuck to the center of my palm. I smiled. I smiled so BIG I almost cried, in fact, I did cry. I cried over a rock and I cried because of Annabelle and her innocence and the innocence of that tiny pink rock!

That rock sits on my desk now, in a tiny container so when I need a smile I can simply look at it and get one. And, if I loose it again, I can just go into the back and get a purple glass bead, but for now, the tiny pink rock works...

Recently, The Tangled Vine had the delightful opportunity to decorate the Casa Romantica for a fabulous evening with ABC: Association of Bridal Consultants! The night was filled with music by Andy of Playtime Attractions, the AMAZING food of Christina and her wonderful crew from Carbonara Catering, sweets from It's All About the Cake, and linens and furniture from Signature Party Rentals!

Happy Wednesday!

The X Factor is playing softly in the background as I type this bloggity-blog tonight... an almost deafening version of a Whitney classic makes Charles laugh out loud! He sits, hand on his stomach, remote by his side and his broken heel still healing... I, secretly and anxiously, am awaiting ~~our~~ my favorite guilty pleasure show #8 of the week, Dance Moms! Oh yes, I am a Team Maddie girl, while Charles is on Team Chloe... but I didn't tell you that...

One of The Tangled Vine's favorite local vendors is Carino Bridal! They are a Custom Wedding Dress shop that is located only a hop, skip and barely a jump away from us on Los Rios Street, directly across from the famous Mission of San Juan! They not only listen to their clients, they go above and beyond in quality and comfort. Dana and her Mom are two of the hardest working women in the industry and they are always doing their homework on the newest and latest styles! Both Allison and I had our custom Wedding dresses made for our big days, and we couldn't have chosen better, thanks to Carino Bridal and their whole family!

Here is just a small tidbit of a Carino Bridal gown that was featured at a recent ABC event, hosted at the always beautiful Casa Romantica, which will be featured in its entirety on Friday's Blog!

Vanessa and I met eight years ago, at our first-ever waitressing job, Rubys Diner *Shout-out to all you JitterBuggers! We have had many laughs, tears, and unforgettable moments together, I practically ~~treat her like~~ call her my lil-sis... I love her, and the fact that she has found true love and happiness with Travis makes me sleep easier at night.

The two of you are beautiful, but even more so when you are together. May your journey of love take you places you could never image!

Mock Up: Montage Laguna Beach

Earlier this summer, The Tangled Vine was given the opportunity to create a Mock Wedding for the Montage of Laguna Beach! Each and every staff member we came in contact with was more then accommodating. They made us feel like we were guests ourselves! Our theme was "Treasures of Love,"in which we incorporated lush linens from Fusion, a modern/antique twist within our florals, and Itty Bitty Sweets was even on hand for dessert! Heather and Patrick played our "Bride and Groom" for the day, and I don't think they minded too much...

We were all setting up for a bright and colorful wedding, when a Monarch butterfly began to dance around our vases and flowers! After no more than 30 seconds of dancing, another Monarch joined in on the party and the two began to cut loose... Bonnie ran inside, threw me my camera, and the next 4 images are what I captured...

When I looked up the definition of fate today, this is what dear Webster had to say...

FATE noun: the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do; DESTINY noun: something to which a person or thing is destined.

When Bill and Chelsea met, destiny was calling and fate intervened. Their love was formed from laughter, friendship, and compassion, not in one single moment, but from years of togetherness.

As they said their vows one peaceful June night, all their stars aligned for their special day!

The Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano played host for Bill and Chelsea's BIG day. They let us, The Tangled Vine have full reign of their beautiful Italian inspired venue. Chelsea loves purple, and so do we... so purple we went! Purple roses, stock, gladiolus, tulpis, Dendro and Mokara orchids! What A DREAM... and the light, uber amazing!

Our ever talented Bonnie put her special touch on Chelsea's custom bouquet... to die for.

Just Married: Kirk & Amy

From the moment I met Amy, I knew she had her mind made up, Kirk was the man for her.

Amy and her MOH (maid of honor) came to meet me months before she was to say her "I Dos" to Kirk. Amy was cool, calm, and collected, knowing exactly what questions she wanted to ask before her big day!

Kirk beamed, with his brother by his side, as he greeted me on his Wedding Day at the front doors of the OC Mining Company, "Yup, I'm the Groom!"

As I turned the corner, making my way to meet with Amy for the first time on her Wedding Day, there she glowed like an angel... clouds, mist, and floating included!

One of the first questions Amy asked me when she saw me was, "How long until our First Look?"

My heart oozed with happiness and I told her, "Soon, I promise you, soon!"

It's my favorite part of ANY Wedding... The First Look.

The moment the Groom sees his Bride for the first time, just the two of them, and my camera.

The First Look is unique to everyone, and the outcome cannot be controlled... that's what makes it so great!

Our favorite part of each Wedding is The Bridal Bouquet! There has to be something unique, personal, and memorable about each one. It is usually The Tangled Vine's last and most sacred element of our Wedding Day Florals. Bonnie knocked this one out-of-the-park!

Last week I came home from a long day at "The Office" and pulled my car up to our complex. As I approached the entrance, my everyone's favorite night gate guard, Judy was working. The moment she saw me she greeted me with her usual cheery voice and smile, "Well hello Miss Kaylee, how are we doing this fine evening!?" I smiled back and we began chatting about what a beautiful day it had been, and how busy life gets... Judy and I talked about how important it is to take time for yourself and to not work too hard. She told me a story about one of her shifts earlier in the week. She was at her "post" when she saw a young couple riding their bikes and laughing, enjoying the company of one-another. Half way through her story she mentioned that the cute couple was Bill and Chelsea!

Bill and Chelsea are The Tangled Vine's latest Tangled Bride and Groom! They are getting Married this weekend!

Judy beamed and said, "They are the cutest, don't you think?"
"Yes!" We both screamed together!

As I drove up the hill and turned the corner onto my street, I spot Chelsea! She is cute as a button, walking with her pup Arnold, yes... he will melt your heart! My mind instantly flashed to our recent engagement session together at their (and mine) favorite park, Sea Terrace in beautiful Monarch Beach. We leashed up Arny and took off... 4 inch heels in tow, why not...

Lovebirds: Sanja & Cole

To say that Sanja and Cole are meant for each other, would be an understatement, especially to anyone who has met this gorgeous couple in person. Cole adores Sanja, and Sanja trusts Cole with her whole heart. Their love is pure, and that was apparent when I saw their love illuminated in person for the first time, a few weeks ago. We met up at The Tangled Vine on Los Rios Street in San Juan Capistrano! Here are some of my personal favorites from our Lovebirds Engagement Session!

One Haute Baby Shower!

Recently, The Tangled Vine, teamed up with some amazing vendors and threw a Baby Shower!

The Patio of the Stars at The Casino of San Clemente, was the perfect location to host the shower! Guests nibbled on delicious-ness from Carbonara, while Itty Bitty Sweets helped us out in the cupcake department... my fave! Brandi from High Society Events coordinated all of the details for the day, which were amazing! BG Design Studio hooked us up with some pretty rad literature including the "Haute Mom" version of Mad Libs!!! The fabulous florals were designed and inspired by Bonnie and Allison, our flower Divas here at The Tangled Vine... I know I might be partial, but aren't they divine? Major THANKS to Stephanie of Ribbons & Rust who helped our vision come to life with her unbelievable vintage treasures! The always helpful Danielle, from Fusion Linens, helped us pick our linens, along with some cute chair flare... they rock it out EVERY time...

Far too long...

Hello my steadfast keyboard friends! It seems like far too long since I've actually sat down with my laptop on my desk in front of me, and just typed. It has been quite a month for me personally, my Husband Charles, fell 20 feet off a ladder and shattered his heel. He underwent ORIF surgery where a metal plate and 11 screws help hold his foot bones together. We now await his long recovery, and everyday gets a little easier. Our love is strong and I know we have God's strength to pull us through this.

Now that, that is out... let's move onto some of the recent happenings at The Tangled Vine!

It has been a busy Spring for us, this Summer's Wedding season is heating up to be a good one! We have June through the end of the year booked for Weddings, and are looking forward to meeting more Tangled Brides! The shop is changing everyday too, from the plants in our garden to our displays inside, come visit us anyday of the week (Mondays we're closed)!

If you love the changing of seasons the way we do, then come on down! You will soooo appreciate our antique Iris bulbs planted along our front yard fence... these beauties brought tears to my eyes when I saw our first bloom, come visit our garden!

Wanna check out a tree that you can see from the Mission of San Juan Capistrano, that was planted in 1907 by the Great Grandfather of our Cottage, Earl Stanfield? Of course you do! Come on in, stay a while!

We have new merchandise that is calling your name! Bring your pocket books and come check out our new vintage section, our new plants and pottery, and our new stylized Bridal room!

Spring has sprung!

Happy 53rd Swallows Day, San Juan Capistrano! Today, San Juan Capistrano and The Tangled Vine celebrated together on Camino Capistrano and Verdugo! Here are some images from today's festivities!

When The Tangled Team first meet Rachel, she walked through our door needing very little guidance. She laid out photos of her dream bouquet and helped us tailor her vision into floral elegance. Rachel and Greg are our 1st official "Tangled Bride and Groom" and we wish them all the love in the world!

Two Worlds Photography & Art is making some major changes and one BIG change, is moving permanentley here, to The Tangled Vine Blog! I'm Kaylee, the Photographer and creator of Two Worlds Photography & Art. Generally, I will be the one speaking/typing for the Tangled Team! More on our fabulous team coming up this week!

Pets are our favorite at The Tangled Vine, especially dogs and recently, I had a Paw-tography Photoshoot with a fabulous couple, Paul and Lisa. Paul and Lisa love their little Princess Lola more than anything, so when Lisa expressed her interest in a Paw-tography Session, I jumped at the chance!

We started our shoot out on Los Rios Street in San Juan Capistrano, where The Tangled Vine is located! Lisa wore the coolest black lace tights, Paul rocked it out in purple, and the always fashionable Lola, wore an understated, yet bedazzled, leader with matching collar and charm... just fabulous!
